Hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, and northeasters are all storms that are a normal part of weather patterns. Typically, there is a few days’ notice, and debris and damage from wind are quickly removed and repaired. As storms intensify, the damage and recovery efforts are greater. In the last few years, the national cost of recovery efforts has significantly increased ($115 billion in damages, FEMA 2025). Storms are unpredictable, but there are actions that can be taken to lessen the damage and enhance the recovery!
