Water quality affects the essential qualities of our community. Although our work focuses on the water quality in the Bays, partners and sister groups are also exploring drinking water, groundwater, freshwater resources, and more – Water Quality is not just one thing! However, there are some commonalities: clean water supports us, fish, oysters, ospreys, terrapins, wildlife, underwater grasses, and recreation, all the things that make our Bays beautiful. Clean water is fragile and can be thrown off balance by excess nutrients, sediment, or pollution. Through monitoring, restoration, and community partnerships throughout the watershed, the Center for the Inland Bays works to protect and improve water quality in the Inland Bays.
