STAC

Scientific & Technical Advisory Committee

Research in the Inland Bays watershed includes water quality, harmful algal bacteria, oysters, forest health, meadow restoration, submerged aquatic vegetation and the list goes on. The Scientific & Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) Meetings serve to share and guide research priorities. The meetings are held three or four times a year and notice of the meetings is given on the home page of our website. The public is invited!

The primary responsibility of the STAC is to provide objective scientific and technical advice and guidance to the Board of Directors of the Center for the Inland Bays (Center) and other cooperating agencies with interests in the Delaware Inland Bays and their watersheds on matters of developing public understanding, interest, and participation in the implementation of the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan for Delaware’s Inland Bays (CCMP). The STAC also serves to provide advice concerning the scientific and technical merit of proposals submitted to the Center and by the Center to other agencies.

In all roles, the STAC strives to receive the concerns from, and to build consensus among the user groups, local, state, and federal agencies, private industries, environmental groups, the scientific community, and general public, concerning the identification of strategies and projects to implement the CCMP and to increase public participation in the work of the Center.

The STAC is a standing committee of the Center and works under the authority of the Board of Directors and is subject to the bylaws of Center.
