Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)–Citizens Café

The public is invited to attend the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays’ upcoming Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)–Citizens Café on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, focused on the theme “Improving Water Health and Ecosystems.” The meeting will feature Tia Ouyang, a Research and Teaching Assistant in the School of Marine Science & Policy at the University of Delaware, who will discuss her research on sources of chemicals in rivers, estuaries, and groundwater, and how factors like land use, storms, and seasonal temperatures affect water quality in the Mid-Atlantic. Additionally, Taylor Hoffman, the Center’s Science Coordinator, will share updates on the Center’s baygrass restoration efforts, including successes and next steps. Once abundant in the Inland Bays, baygrasses provide essential habitats for wildlife but are threatened by poor water quality. Join us to learn about ongoing research and efforts to restore the health of local waterways and vital aquatic ecosystems.
There are two options for attending this hybrid meeting—in person at the Center’s office (39375 Inlet Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971) or virtually (information below).
