The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays welcomes the public to join our upcoming Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) – Citizens Café on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

What does “resilience” really mean for our communities—and how can individuals play a role in protecting the places we call home?

Join the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) of the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays (CIB) for the first Citizens Café of 2026, launching a year-long exploration of Resilience in the Inland Bays Watershed: Adapting, Protecting, and Thriving.

CAC’s quarterly meetings will explore resilience throughout the year at different scales, recognizing that lasting progress depends on the combined efforts of individuals, organizations, and decision-makers. This first conversation centers on the individual—examining what coastal and climate resilience means for the Inland Bays, the environmental changes already underway, and practical ways each of us can adapt and respond. All are welcome to attend.

Featured Speakers

Danielle Swallow – Coastal Hazards Specialist, Delaware Sea Grant
In her talk, Building Climate Resilience into Our Way of Life, Danielle Swallow will share highlights from Delaware’s new climate projections for temperature, precipitation, and sea level rise. She will also discuss statewide efforts to promote climate resilience and offer practical preparedness tips and strategies residents can use to better understand and respond to change.

Meghan Noe Fellows – Director of Science & Restoration, Delaware Center for the Inland Bays
In her talk, Community Conversations about Resilience, Meghan Noe Fellows will introduce the Center’s Southern Delaware Coastal Resiliency Plan—a vision for using nature-based solutions to enhance resilience in the Inland Bays watershed under projected sea-level rise and increased storm activity. The discussion will explore key elements of resilience and invite participants to look inward, reflect on their own interests and capacities, and identify meaningful ways to engage in resilience efforts.
