Winter Lecture Series – Rooting in Nature: Supporting Healthy Soils & Habitats in the Inland Bays

The Center’s annual 3-part Winter Lecture Series is back! The first session of the 2023-2024 season, “Rooting in Nature: Supporting Healthy Soils & Habitats in the Inland Bays” will take place on Thursday, November 9th from 5-7 pm. Tracy Wootten, with the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension, will provide an introduction to soils, before digging into the benefits of soil health for people and wildlife. Helen E Raleigh, from Story Hill Farm, will discuss her experience as a local farmer and what practices she utilizes to promote healthy native habitats. Drew Harris, with the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension, will also provide a soil demonstration for in-person attendees. This event is free, but in-person space is limited! Questions? There are two options for attending this hybrid event: in-person or virtually (see below for details). Please note that the soil demonstration is only offered to in-person attendees.
 
Attendance Option #1:
Attend in person at the Georgetown Public Library located at 123 W Pine Street, Georgetown, DE 19947. Masks are optional, but we kindly ask participants to stay home or join virtually if anyone in your party has been feeling sick.
