Learn about “Resilient Earth, Resilient Communities” and how the DE Center for the Inland Bays is building resilience throughout the watershed.
Overview
How is the Center working towards building a more resilient Inland Bays watershed? Join Center staff to learn more about coastal resiliency and visit the Resilient Earth, Resilient Communities traveling exhibit on display in the Dr. Susan K Ball Environmental Education Center.
Participants will explore some of the nature-based solutions taking root at the James Farm Ecological Preserve such as living shorelines and a demonstration mini forest.
Participants will spend the majority of the program walking along the Preserve’s trails. We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes for comfort and safety. Please bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellent, as the Preserve can be buggy at times.
The walk will cover approximately 1 – 2 miles across various terrains, including wooden boardwalks, tree roots, and sandy paths, with frequent stops along the way.
Important Notes:
This program is best suited for participants over the age of 18. Any participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
