Uncover the secrets of the marsh as we take a guided nature walk towards the marsh at the James Farm Ecological Preserve. Learn why marshes are one of the most important habitats in our Inland Bays watershed. We’ll also talk about the Center’s various research and restoration projects that focus on salt marshes!
Participants will spend the majority of the program walking along the Preserve’s trails. We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes for comfort and safety. Please bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellent, as the Preserve can be buggy at times.
The walk will cover approximately 1.5 – 2 miles across various terrains, including wooden boardwalks, tree roots, and sandy paths, with frequent stops along the way.
Important Notes:
Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
This program is weather permitting.
Attendance is free, but registration is encouraged. We reserve the right to turn away walk-ups if necessary.
