ATTEND ORIENTATION / JOIN THE SURVEY
Registration required: Please email environment@inlandbays.
Each year the CIB leads a citizen science survey from late April through October to document the relative abundance and species composition of the fish communities using our shoreline areas. These shoreline areas are used as nurseries for many commercially and recreationally important species such as Summer Flounder and Blue Crab.
This survey has been taking place for over 8 years, and is a great way to learn about the fish in the bays, and engage with nature in a meaningful way. Surveys occur once a month, and typically last between 1.5 and 3 hours.
Interested in participating in the Inshore Fish and Blue Crab Survey this year? Come to the orientation meeting where we will go over the basics of the survey, previous years findings, hand out survey schedules, and sign up for survey teams.
Orientation participation is VERY HIGHLY recommended!
