Winter Lecture Series—Get Hooked: Exploring Fishes in Delaware’s Estuaries

The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays’ annual 3-part Winter Lecture Series is back! In collaboration with Delaware Sea Grant, the second session of the 2023-2024 season, “Get Hooked: Exploring Fishes in Delaware’s Estuaries” will take place on Thursday, February 22nd from 5-7 PM. Dr. Aaron Carlisle, Assistant Professor, School of Marine Science & Policy, College of Earth, Ocean & Environment with the University of Delaware, will highlight some current research on the ecological role of sharks within our local estuaries and the biological and economic impact of the recreational shark fishery in Delaware. Clark Evans, owner of Old Inlet Bait & Tackle and President of the Delaware Mobile Surf-Fisherman group, will join the conversation and share insight on the importance of recreational fisheries in Delaware’s coastal communities.
There are two options for attending this hybrid event: in-person at the University of Delaware Hugh R. Sharp campus (1044 College Drive, Lewes, DE 19958, Cannon Lab, Room #104) or virtually (via Zoom).
