Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Environmental Justice, and Advocacy Committee
The Center’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Environmental Justice, and Advocacy (DEIJA) Committee focuses on communities within the Inland Bays watershed: Georgetown, Long Neck, Millsboro, Oak Orchard, and Selbyville, as well as communities in surrounding areas of Sussex County: Bridgeville, Seaford, Milford, Gumboro, Laurel.
The goals of the committee include: assessing current DEIJA efforts in the organization, driving integration of DEIJA into all aspects of the organization, and leading accountability within the organization around DEIJA.
The committee reports to the Board with assessments and suggestions for internal and external DEIJA policies and procedures and to make suggestions on the engagement of communities and stakeholders that are representative of broader and previously unheard populations within the Inland Bays watershed.
