Monti earned her B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University in 2022, with a concentration in conservation. During her studies, she also spent a semester at the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation, gaining hands-on experience in the field. She now works as an Environmental Educator at the Center while pursuing her master’s degree with a new focus on Environmental Communications.

As part of her graduate work, Monti traveled to Nepal for a conservation storytelling program where she explored how multimedia can help people better understand and connect with environmental issues. She now incorporates these techniques into her teaching, using hands- on, interactive methods to bring ecological concepts to life for students, having reached over 1,000 learners in her previous role.

Monti’s background in wildlife rehabilitation also shapes her work as an educator. Drawing on real-life experiences, she helps audiences understand the relationships between people, wildlife, and entire ecosystems, and highlights how conservation relates to everyday life.  Passionate about making science accessible, Monti aims to bridge the gap between people and the natural world through encouraging curiosity, understanding, and a sense of care for the environment we all share.

When she’s not at the center, you can often find Monti walking along Rehoboth Beach, kayaking in the bays, reading, or working on a new craft.
