Explore the trails of the James Farm Ecological Preserve and the Indian River Bay. Participants will have an opportunity to act as scientists and learn about the health of the Bay by performing a series of water quality tests. We will examine temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, and a few other metrics to learn about how the Center measures the water quality within the Inland Bays watershed.
This program includes a chance to win a marine debris kit! Participants must stay the entire duration of the program to be entered to win and receive a giveaway to help improve water quality!
Participants will be walking trails and spending time at the beach, so please wear comfortable clothes & shoes. Closed-toe shoes are encouraged. Please remember to bring water, sunscreen and insect repellant, if desired since the Preserve can be buggy.
Please note: Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian present at all times. Thank you for your cooperation.
We’ll be walking about a mile throughout the Preserve over various terrain.
This program is weather permitting. Attendance is free, registration is encouraged.
